VIETNAM International Steel and Metal Processing Exhibit-ISME Vietnam is co-sponsored by Vietnam Iron and Steel Association and ASEAN Iron and Steel Association. It is a large-scale professional steel and metal industry exhibition in Vietnam. On average, more than 50 Chinese steel enterprises participate in each exhibition, among which many famous Chinese steel enterprises such as Baosteel, Angang, Maanshan, Tisco, Baotou Steel and so on.The last exhibition attracted 15,920 visitors, with an exhibition area of 3,000 square meters and 150 exhibitors. In recent years, the export of Chinese steel to Vietnam has been increasing, and many Chinese enterprises are increasingly optimistic about the Vietnamese market. With the booming development of Vietnam's oil, natural gas, chemical industry, machinery, home appliances, shipbuilding, automobile industry and urban construction, metal pipe, plate, wire, stainless steel and other products account for a large proportion in Vietnam's import trade. At present, Vietnam's steel self-sufficiency rate is only 40%, most of which it imports. The Vietnamese government will continue to expand the investment in infrastructure, and Vietnam's domestic steel demand will continue to grow steadily. According to the forecast of Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam's construction steel demand will increase by 15% to 20% every year, and will reach 15 million tons in 2020 and 20 million tons in 2025.Due to the lack of relevant policy support in Vietnam, some steel products can not achieve local production in the short term, relying on imports will continue to maintain the status quo. The growth of steel consumption and the rapid development of steel industry driven by the massive infrastructure and industrial development in Vietnam will provide a good opportunity for the steel production capacity cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. As a coastal gateway to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, Vietnam has become a representative of emerging markets in ASEAN countries.China is not only a major wholesaler of Vietnamese steel products, but will also become a major partner in the development of Vietnam's steel industry.
