Ordinary carbon brick is a neutral refractory made of coke or heat-treated anthracite and coal tar fired in a reduction flame. Carbon content about 88%-90%. It has high thermal stability, fire resistance, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. It can resist the erosion of molten metal and slag, but is easy to be oxidized.      

It is mainly used in the place where the molten metal and the masonry body of the furnace contact, such as the furnace and the bottom of the blast furnace, the shaft furnace of melting non-ferrous metal, the electric furnace of melting calcium carbide, iron alloy, etc.
